1 Corona, NY Corona, NY Full-time Full-time $60,000 a year $60,000 a year 14 hours ago 14 hours ago 14 hours ago Summary The job of Maintenance Supervisor was established for the purpose/s of providing supervision of maintenance and custodial services on Elmcor program sites; ensuring an attractive, sanitary, and safe environment for participants, staff and visitors; performing a variety of special cleaning operations; overseeing the preparation of facilities for activities and campus events; overseeing and supporting assigned custodians in the performance of their assignments; and ensuring that assignments are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Inspects facilities for the purpose of ensuring that the site is suitable for safe operations, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, identifying necessary repairs to facilities and/or equipment, etc.
Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds (e.
g.
offices, conference rooms, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, stairwells, common walkways (halls), elevators, outdoor grounds, etc.
) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
Conduct and assign preventative maintenance work Monitoring maintenance budget spending and conducting cost reducing comparisons.
Research bids and supervise external contractors Maintain excellent relationship with vendors and contractors Assures compliance with regulations by Dept.
of Buildings, Fire Department, Dept.
of Health, OASAS, and any other governing body.
Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment (e.
g.
cleaning solutions, paper products, vacuums, mops, etc.
) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of custodial items required to properly maintain facilities.
Monitors staff, participants, and visitors in and around work areas (e.
g.
halls, multipurpose rooms, offices, restrooms, grounds, etc.
) for the purpose of preventing injuries and ensuring site safety.
Performs minor maintenance building repairs (e.
g.
electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
) for the purpose of maintaining a safe and attractive building.
Prepares written materials (e.
g.
supply requisitions, safety inspections, work orders, inventory records, time sheets, etc.
) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or relating activities to administration for action.
Responds to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.
g.
facility damage, vandalism, alarms, etc.
) for the purpose of taking appropriate action or notifying appropriate personnel for resolution.
Secures facilities and grounds (e.
g.
doors, gates, alarms, fire systems, lights, etc.
) for the purpose of minimizing property damage, equipment loss and/or potential liability.
Trains assigned personnel (e.
g.
new custodians, interns/helpers, etc.
) for the purpose of developing professional trade and safety awareness skills.
Qualifications/ Education and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or its equivalent, with 2 years of maintenance supervisory and 5 years of custodial experience with increasing levels of responsibility in work history.
Valid NY Driver's License issued by state of residence and in good standing (encouraged).
Must receive Fire Guard Certification, OSHA Trainings, First Aid, CPR, AED trainings.
